Framework for Story

Anyone remember Fantasy Island?

I was thinking that coming up with a similar framework you could build in any number of mind cotrol themed stories both heroine and non heroine related. It could make any number of standalone tales fit into it. There could also be an overall plot ark about someone investigating the resort because odd things keep happening.

Anyone else think this could work or able to put some more meat on the bones?

Cool idea. Hope the island "MC" is a woman though.
Would the general run be stories contained within a single issue? or like the show a trilogy of stories running several issues?
Fantasy Island, like Twilight Zone had a lot of irony to it as well as lessons learned.

It would be neat to have a general plot behind the whole series that is either sinister in nature or benevolent.
I recall one episode of Fantasy Island where he matches wits with Lucifer.

I had an idea years ago about a place called "Pleasure Island", located off the coast of Metrobay. It is an island that ROPE owns, which they use to host a whole lot of hedonistic (and downright illegal) gatherings. I had planned to send some Superheroine Squad members there on vacation and have them get into all sorts of fetishy troubles, but I never got around to it. Not enough hours in the day I guess...

Oh I remember some hints being dropped about that. That's definitely one story I would absolutely LOVE to see! :)

Well, there's never too late. Maybe one day it would seem like a good idea to grapple this idea again. Something like Fin's old 'Changed woman' req story, only bigger :D

That's true. I'll see if I can get to it someday. I also thought of turning the 'island' into a resort (like a Las Vegas casino) and have the action be self-contained there.

Hi everybody!

Talking about “Fantasy Island”, I remember an episode, called “The Mermaid/The victim” (there were two tales in them! Here is the TV.com description:

“And in 'The Victim' a Julie Brett wishes to reunite with a man she met four years ago, she calls him the 'perfect man' but fails to heed Mr. Roarke's warning and finds herself kidnapped by Duvall who forces women to be his prostitutes.”

So, gorgeous Julie, after dismissing Mr. Roarke’s warnings, gets his dream date with Duvall. But Duvall drugs her drink and kidnaps her to his own private island, where she awakes surrounded by beautiful girls and is informed by her new “mentor” that she will be the new “addition” to Duvall’s stable of high priced call girls!

As the girls have breakfast the next day, they are subtly bullied by Duvall in the best “No Mr. Bond, I expect you to dine” way. Rebellious Julie throws her drink in Duvall’s face, so her “mentor” has her disciplined in a “dungeon”, where we see another beautiful woman slowly losing it.

As in all tv dramas, Julie only has to say an speech to all the girls so they can rebel against Duvall and his cronies and escape from the mansion, just in time for Mr. Roarke to appear with the cavalry to arrest Duvall and give us a happy TV ending.

I cannot believe this tale was told in 70’s prime time tv. But it was. I blame this series, (that I saw as a child, with Wonder Woman and Batman), for the various fetishes I have today. I forget everything about this chapter, except the fact that there were a kidnapping and various ladies were against their will in a beautiful mansion. But now, thanks to youtube magic, we can see an excerpt of this episode here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_xKwBN4aGI

This episode has the most gorgeous girls… in 70’s clothes and hairdos! The twins Candi and Randi Brough, dressed with the same clothes! All of the girls acting completely meek and hapless! Oh my, this must have been MY fantasy instead… oh my… what an idea!

So, I just want to present this idea to your consideration. And even if you don’t use it, I would love to read your comments, thank you!
