Character Conversation #7: Omega Woman

I was politely reminded that we haven't started a new one of these in a while, so here we go.

Omega Woman is a rarity in Metrobay, in that she possesses a multitude of superpowers when most characters have only one or two... if any at all. She can fly, she has super strength, she can fire energy blasts, and do so without so much as a hair getting out of place. She is a founding member of the Superheroine Squad, and is still an active member today, and her exploits have made her a legend in the annals of Metrobay history.

It certainly doesn't hurt that she has the face of a movie star, the body of a fitness model, and the bustline of a porn star... right?

So what do you think of Omega Woman? Is she a worthy addition to the Superheroine Squad lineup? Let your voice be heard!

Omega Woman is quite an attractive character. She's got plenty of power to spare, and was even a danger to herself at one point. She's got a bit of an attitude and edge that makes her interesting. And she's probably got, in my opinion, the best bod of any heroine.

She's a great character, but I'd love to get in her head a bit more. She comes off as cold and distant most of the time, and it's been established she does that intentionally, avoiding crowds, social gatherings, and even other teammates. She's a tough nut to crack, but she's obviously got a lot boiling under the hood. So, yeah, I'd certainly like to see more of her.

Ok...here's my opin on Omega Woman and let the fur fly afterwards. For her to grow, I think she needs to be a heroine on her own and away from the Squad members. I know, I know, she's a legendary heroine and such but she's also a character who comes off as a bit cold and gruff when interacting with others.

Maybe its just me but I like shaking up status quo in characters and a story where OW leaves the Squad to figure out her future even as she deals with the hassles of the present is due. Right now, staying in the Squad stifles her and I think she's got a lot of room to grow.

I completely agree with Northern Chill. She needs to flesh out some things in her life and the Squad is cramping her person. I also agree that she has one of the hottest bods in Metrobay and with a such cute, perky face that makes look like she's in her upper 20's. She rivels Ms. Metrobay in the hotness category but she doesn't have the maturity edge that MM has. I give her a 4.444444444.

I really like Omega Woman and her Meg Ryan-esque face and shaggy hair with a rock-hard, busty body.

People have been pointing out that Omega Woman seems "out of place" amongst the other heroines, and that's something I actually like about her. She may have been a founding member alongside Valiant Woman and Ms. Metrobay, but both other women have evolved through the times and changed with technology, politics, and social movements. Omega Woman, on the other hand, leapfrogged her way through time and jumped straight from the 40s-era to the modern world. She's social inept and awkward, but how would YOU feel if you woke up in a strange new world with dozens of new faces and barely anybody you cared for or loved from the moment you went to sleep was around anymore?

Another thing I've liked about her is her attitude towards being a heroine. Heroines like Gadget Gal or Alpha Woman love being heroines, but Omega Woman has approached it and does it because she simply has no alternatives. She was stripped of a normal life and pumped full of powers she barely had control over and then whipped up to fight crime. She seems very unhappy as a heroine, yet she's shown to have trouble letting her hair down and doing anything but fight crime. Ms. Metrobay is her friend, but even then Ms. Metrobay has to practically drag her friend out of the station to have FUN.

None of that is a bad thing, I think. It makes her isolated and distant, but that's just the way she is. She has a hard exterior, but once you get in and know her, she's really a sad woman, lonely and disconnected from the normal world. Maybe I'm reading way too much into it, but that's the way she comes across to me and I think it makes her both sympathetic and interesting.

Her experiences with Mesmerella and Ginger both have given her good reason NOT to have any other life but that of a heroine, but maybe she'll find the right occasion or person to make her smile, relax, and throw away some of her inhibitions. In all, though, she's a great addition to Metrobay and a sexy bundle of power to stare at.

The other thing I'd like to add is that Omega Woman reminds me a bit of Yankee Girl from the independent comic Femforce (yeah, I've read a few comics in my day). Both characters are a bit out of place after hibernating for decades and such. Mind you, Yankee Girl doesn't get mind controlled as often as Omega Woman....

She's one of my favorite characters. For some reason, she reminds me of the butch, blonde, sexy female Drill Sergeant,
Sergeant Callahan (Leslie Easterbrook) from the Police Academy movies.

She exudes all that power and untapped sexuality, combined with her commitment to duty, that it is great when she is forced to submit.

Sometimes her 40s era mentality shines through as well (Much more so than Ms. Metrobay), which is nice when placed in the sexual situations of modern times, although this could be played up more.

She makes an incredibly sexy drone from way back from the old Superheroine Squad series. Her blue Controlunit suit was the best! I also thought she looked cute sleeping in a tube, and she has possibly my favorite pair of breasts (tied with Hypnotica ).

It's also nice to see the short, messy hair on her.

Here's something I've wondered about: her Power Girl-esque cleavage window. Do you all like it, or would it be sexier if that space was filled in with material and the spandex hugged the outline of her bust a bit more tightly?

I guess what I'm asking is, what's sexier? The hint of cleavage, or the large breasts completely underneath the tight clothing?

I'd keep the cleavage..it keeps her look a different one than the other Squad members and I'm not sure that suit could hug her any tighter anyways...

I'd vote for "a hint" (it may be typical British reticence, but I'm happy to use my imagination).

As an idea, looking ahead: it would make it easier for the authors to show that our heroine (or victim) has switched from her "demure" civilain guise (before she is programmed) to "cleavage" as a sign that she is now under the control of a "higher authority". "Loosen your buttons as the control on your mind is tightened" - a interesting metaphor, perhaps?
Young Dani's business-attire working blouse in "Wireless" is an ideal example.

Just a thought - because my heroines are not allowed any!.
